  • 40 hours per week, on a 5/7 Rota
  • Working hours: 06:00 - 14:30
  • £13.39 per hour
  • Plus £1.42 per hour extra when undertaking shunting responsibilities. 
  • Full, valid Driving Licence required for occasional shunting tasks

ArrowXL is now recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our busy Warehouse team in Airdrie. Coordinating a team of hardworking Warehouse Operatives, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of our Warehouse function during the AM Shift, ensuring our delivery crews are loaded to deliver the best service to all our customers.

Dealing with items such as refrigerators, televisions, and indoor and outdoor furniture requires hard work and dedication. By choosing to be part of our Warehouse team, you will be welcomed into the ArrowXL family.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a full UK driving licence for shunting duties.

What will the role involve?

  • Take accountability for the work area you are assigned to (Receiving, picking, loading, putaway, etc).
  • Lead from the front with warehouse and product placement standards – Warehouse Excellence.
  • Manage the team’s achievement of performance targets set through strong leadership.
  • Ensure you and all team members manage stock integrity throughout its handling.
  • Manage the team so that all products are Quality Control checked upon receipt and after each product movement.
  • Manage the team’s activities to ensure the shift completes all agreed tasks on time and exceeds minimum key performance indicators and quality standards.
  • Operate the team to high standards of hygiene and housekeeping.
  • Complete administration and data capture in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure that all team members operate within legislative requirements, especially Health & Safety.
  • Continually identify opportunities to improve ‘under the roof’ KPI’s.
  • Challenge the status quo and passionate about driving ideas through to implementation.
  • Communicate clearly so that all direct reports and team members are aware of their objectives and the required standards, ensuring alignment with both functional and broader business objectives.
  • Define and manage day-to-day activities, clearly prioritising to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Accountable for ensuring the quality of the work at the ‘Professional’ level and the performance of their team members, where applicable.
  • Role model positive behaviours in keeping with our values, recognising good/excellent performance whilst being clear and transparent about areas of underperformance concerning direct line reports and their teams.
  • Coaching/ mentoring of other team members to understand the levels of excellence required within their role.
  • Provide clear advice and direction on how to change and make improvements where necessary.
  • Resolve conflicts among team members quickly and fairly. Proactively manage any poor conduct and/or behaviour in keeping with AXL policy and procedure.
  • Manage attendance among team members in keeping with AXL policy and procedure.
  • Engage and build open and honest professional and positive relationships with team members, fellow colleagues, peers and cross-functional stakeholders.

 

 

What are we looking for

  • An expert within their area of the operation – UTR excellence / SSOWs.
  • Has strong knowledge of the other regions of the operation.
  • Strong relationship management skills, able to navigate the corporate landscape, quickly establish credibility and build effective, collaborative working relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Able to act professionally at all times to the benefit of the company and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Being a team player.
  • Strong coaching skills to develop other team members.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Strong eye for detail.
  • Experience with Red Prairie, Empactis, Qlikview, ODS, and Viewpoint is advantageous.
