Transport First Line Manager – North East

Quite often these items need installing, which we do too.

ArrowXL is now recruiting for a Transport First Line Manager to cover our Satellite depots in the North East (Newton Aycliffe and Newcastle). Working within this fast paced and challenging role you will have overall responsibility for the Transport and Service Delivery functions, ensuring that our customers always receive the best quality service.

Role Responsibility

  • The resourcing, development and management of all colleagues within your team, ensuring service delivery crews are fully trained (in particular, driver CPC, service delivery standards and product installation)
  • Managing on-site resources (colleagues, vehicles and equipment) to ensure we have everything required in the right place at the right time to not only meet, but also flex, to our customers changing needs
  • Identifying opportunities for improved efficiencies within the Transport function, recommending and implementing changes where needed
  • Efficient fleet utilisation, resource planning and cost control (whilst always ensuring the operation is both effective and compliant)
  • Taking lead for legal compliance and safety
  • Making prompt decisions which protect customer service and our delivery schedule, as well as remaining commercially focused

The Ideal Candidate

With the amount of applications expected for this position, we will only be able to proceed forward with candidates who match our essential requirements stated below:

  • A minimum of two years leadership experience within a transport operation
  • Demonstrable experience improving transport operations and introducing operational excellence
  • Strong people skills, able to influence, coach and develop
  • Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Regulations and hold a national CPC and ensure that ‘O’ licence requirements are adhered to
  • Full UK driving license (Frequent travel will be involved around the North East)

Package Description

  • 40 hours per week, on a 5/7 Rota
  • £14.74 per hour (equating to an annual salary of £30,659)
  • £5,500 car allowance
