We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse First Line Manager to join our Warehouse in Airdrie, working the night shift.

Role Responsibility

The customer is at the heart of everything that we do, and as Warehouse FLM (reporting to the Warehouse Manager) you will have overall responsibility for the smooth operation of your shift and for ensuring our customers receive the best quality service always. 

This is achieved through your team of highly skilled operatives, efficient resource planning and cost control whilst always ensuring the operation is both effective and compliant.

No two days are quite the same, however, the role involves leading a team of warehouse operatives to coordinate all aspects of the day to day offload, put away and pick and load processes (which includes responsibility for stock quality and integrity).

You need to have a positive and confident attitude, be a strong team motivator and have a customer focus to ensure we deliver the right stock, in perfect condition to our customer’s doors every day.

The business is going through positive change as we drive towards ‘One Best Way’ so this role will suit an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager who embraces change and has an appetite for continuous improvement.

You will need to be resilient, work well under pressure and make prompt decisions which protect customer service and the delivery schedule as well as remaining commercially focused.

You will be responsible for the resourcing, development and management of the colleagues in your team, ensuring that our operatives are fully trained in all areas and the we retain great colleagues within the business.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will need to be capable of working in a changing environment with the additional pressure to deliver on time every day.

The nature of the role is such that as well as having experience in managing warehouse operations and people management, you must be well organised, have an eye for detail, be able to communicate effectively and influence people, as well as the capacity to take a common-sense approach to a situation.

Key skills

• At least 2 years’ experience (or equivalent study) managing teams within a customer focused and fast-paced warehouse environment
• Knowledge and experience dealing with first line people management issues (absence, performance, and investigations)
• Knowledge of RedPrairie WMS an advantage
• Good working knowledge on Microsoft Systems as this role uses various Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and Excel
• Relevant licences/experience operating a variety of MHE equipment
• Analyse and utilise Management Information to identify areas of improvement and drive change
• Manage available performance data to coach and develop team members
• Understand and interpret financial data to manage and improve resource costs
• Deliver against company and customer KPI’s
• Demonstrable commercial and financial acumen
• Strong people skills – able to influence, coach and develop

Package Description

• Basic salary of £25,105.60 per annum plus a 20% shift allowance
