Job Introduction

We are currently on the lookout for a Transport Planner to join the team and play a major part in connecting our delivery crews to our Customers. Using our transport planning systems, you will plan between 5,000 – 8,000 home deliveries and customer collections every day for our 250 strong fleet.

Role Responsibility

Our Clients and Customers are at the heart of everything we do which is why our motto is to ‘make them feel special’. Reporting to the National Planning Manager, you will be responsible for;

• Ensuring optimal routing of our vehicles to meet customer requirement, legal compliance and our in-house KPI’s
• Planning inflight collections and high priority orders
• Updating transport systems accurately and in real-time as and when changes occur
• Responding to internal enquiries regarding route capacity to ensure we deliver the best possible customer service

Working hours;

PM Shift; start between 12:00 – 14:00 and finish between 22:00 – 00:00 on a 4over7 Rota.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Transport Planner and it would be highly advantageous if you have experience using Paragon Planning System.

We will however provide full training for this position, and if you are a recent graduate with great Mathematical skills and Geographical knowledge, we would love to hear from you.

• Understanding of how a logistics operation works
• Computer literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong Mathematical skills and geographical knowledge 
• The ability to work under pressure and prioritise activity
• Great communication skills with the ability to build interdepartmental relationships
• A self-starter who has an eye for continuous improvement
• Able to deliver to tight deadlines

Package Description

• £12.04 per hour, plus a 10% shift allowance (this equates to £27,539.20 per annum)
