Main Responsibilities
Your day to day role will include:
- Supporting and completing scoping activities, analysing customer needs and identifying key requirements for BAU changes and projects.
- Securing and coordinating internal resources to ensure projects are successfully executed.
- Creating and maintaining project plans and key documentation.
- Tracking milestones against scope, costs and timescales to deliver change within budget.
- Managing changes to scope within the specified change control process.
- Performing configuration activities as required.
- Working in line with our project management process and tools.
- Facilitate workshops and update sessions across all levels of the business, including exec.
- Ensuring all changes follow the agreed governance process.
- Ensure escalation of any issues to the Technical delivery manager and change owner/business sponsor where applicable.
For your portfolio of systems/applications and services, you will:
- Project manage any specific IT activities and provide technical user support, either directly or via the agreed external support service.
- Provide effective user self-service support information.
- Own any problem management.
- Own any change through to implementation.
- Patch and release management.
- Develop system and configuration documentation.
- Ensure information security controls and governance are maintained.
- Liaise with relevant technology partners.
- Together with with the Enterprise Architect, define and own the system/application road-map including patch, release and change plans.
- Maintain license information and renewals.
- Ensure effective system monitoring is in place.
- Ensure data management plans are established and maintained.
- Manage own workload, priorities and time.
- Fully participate in the Company’s Personal Performance and Development process.
- Maintain your own Personal Development Plan to continually develop expertise in key areas of your role.
The Ideal Candidate
- Ability to work under time constraints in a team environment.
- Capable of working in a changing environment with the additional pressure to deliver.
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence people.
- Capacity to take a common-sense approach to a situation.
- Process focused, as well as technically capable.
- Team player, willing to assist colleagues as and when required. Equally comfortable working on your own.
- Able to work to tight deadlines, with the flexibility to adapt to changing business requirements.
- High level of numerical skill, with a good eye for detail.
- Understanding of appropriate business processes and working practice.
- Ability to capture requirements and deliver system change.
- Understanding of logistics and 24/7 operations.
- Demonstrable experience in technical administering of systems/applications.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply suitable methodologies for delivering change and Continuous Improvement.
- Strong facilitation skills.
- Full UK Driving licence.
