National Fleet Manager
Job Introduction
Reporting directly into the Head of UK Operations, this role is management position that is critically aligned to the success of our historic rich, yet challenging UK operation.
This role profile is an overview of the remit of your job role, responsibilities, and accountabilities.
It may be changed from time to time to incorporate changing circumstances, and you may be required to be flexible and perform other duties as required, which may be at the same level as your home role or below.
Role Responsibility

Leadership of the central fleet team

Responsibility of fleet legal compliance across hub network

Vehicle and all related products/services procurement e.g. (fuel/oils/tyres etc)

Vehicle/trailer specification, design, and procurement

An understanding of financing the acquisition of vehicles
-
Fleet Policy/Process design and implementation
-
Creator and owner of all processes around operating a fleet of mixed vehicles (from on hire checks, off hire, defect procedures, tacho & driver hours management)

Fuel management and process responsibility

Fleet reporting up to and including board level
-
Hire, lease and maintenance relationship management
-
Own regulatory and compliance external relationships
-
Fleet accident ownership and support to the operation

Regular site visits to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships

Coordination of regular communication with local transport and fleet management to ensure consistency of process application, engagement and continuous improvement

An expert in all thing’s fleet/vehicle

Driver CPC management governance
-
Central coordination of PMI/MOT/LOLER ensuring correct process compliance

Supporting the development and training of fleet practices within the network

Ownership of vehicle movements around the network

Managing strict vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules to minimise downtime

Fleet cost management

Degree level intellect

Management CPC

Excellent knowledge of road transport law

Takes ownership of implementing business decisions and effectively and proactively communicates them to the team and wider business areas
