Logistics Operative – Wigan

Most of our work is taking responsibility for storing and delivering large, heavy, bulky items – the kind of work that typically needs two people to handle. Quite often these items need installing, which we do too.

ArrowXL is now recruiting for a Logistics Operative join our busy projects team in Wigan. Utilising in-house ArrowXL systems to record and review product data, you would become part of a team capturing data on freight within the network, to be used as for multiple projects and areas of development within ArrowXL.

Role Responsibility

Reporting into the Logistics Senior Operative, your duties will include:

  • Accurately inputting data and identifying any trends and or issues, through the monitoring of all AXL freight.
  • Physically handling products to accurately record weights and dimensions
  • Working with other AXL colleagues across multiple sites and departments
  • Actively working within Warehouse and Transport Teams to identify areas of improvement within the Operation
  • Being responsible for your own health and safety and mindful of the health and safety of your colleagues
  • Using AXL equipment, including hand-held terminals
  • Using MHE equipment where required

The Ideal Candidate

With the amount of applications expected for this position, we will only be able to proceed forward with candidates who match our essential requirements stated below:

  • Experience of working within a busy warehouse/logistics operation
  • Manual handling experience (ideally working with heavy goods)
  • Keen eye for detail with the ability to analyse trends within data
  • Computer literate as you will need to use our in-house systems (system specific training will be provided)
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise activity
  • Self-starter who is always looking for ways to improve the way we do things

Package Description

Additional Information:

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Working hours – 08:00 to 16:30
  • Basic hourly rate of £9.02 per hour
