Azure Infrastructure Engineer – Wigan (WN5)

Our support functions at ArrowXL are the foundations of our operations who enable us to constantly grow and improve.

We are currently looking for an Infrastructure Engineer focus on the Azure cloud to support our amazing and dedicated IT Team in Wigan.

Role Responsibility

ArrowXL are looking to grow an in-house Infrastructure function to support our traditional datacentres and cloud services.

With a recent move to Office 365 and a planned move into Azure, the Infrastructure Team now requires a dedicated Azure & O365 SME to design, manage and maintain the underlying Cloud/O365 platform and ensure that we drive adoption of both current and future Azure & O365 features throughout the business.

In this role you will take the lead on some exciting Infrastructure projects; the new greenfield Azure cloud implementation, site moves/changes, installing and supporting Network and Software applications and more!

You will also provide 3rd line Infrastructure Support and be responsible for the security, resilience, backup and monitoring of Infrastructure.

Other responsibilities will include;

  • Be the Azure SME, designing and deploying required Infrastructure into Azure. Feed into the cloud governance model and help shape and define how we deploy Infrastructure into our cloud platform.
  • Be the Office 365 SME, providing support and advice for the full suite of O365 applications, including Exchange, Office, PowerBI, SharePoint and Teams
  • Interface with the business, building strong relationships to ensure that translate business requirements into technical solutions that align to the Azure & O365 roadmap
  • Manage the O365 roadmap, ensuring that new features and changes are communicated and deployed where required
  • Azure / O365 license management
  • Ensure our cloud platforms are maintained and monitored, remains complaint and adheres to our security policies and standards
  • Ongoing administration of Exchange Online and AAD
  • Maintain the Platform Services ticket queues, ensuring that SLA’s are met in accordance with the Incident, Major Incident and Problem Management processes
  • Work with third party Vendors to ensure that they continue to provide a consistent level of service and are performing to KPI’s. Hold regular service reviews to management performance and ensure that we drive value out of the service
  • Ensure that all platforms remain performant in line with business requirements and have enough capacity to deliver the underlying service now and for the future
  • Perform adequate DR and Failover tests in line with the business RPO and RTO
  • Facilitate the delivery of project work according to business need
  • Highlight opportunities to improve/evolve technology platforms to the benefit of the business

The Ideal Candidate

Before applying, you should be able to demonstrate experience of Technical leadership  experience, with the ability to lead Infrastructure projects.

You should have:

  • At least 4-6 years working in a similar role.
  • Knowledge and technical expertise to implement strategies, evaluate processes, and build upon an infrastructure.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Experience working with: Azure, Office 365, Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory,

Desirable Skills:

  • LAN/WAN design
  • SAN/NAS networking inc. switch configuration.

Whilst your home location will be our Wigan Support Centre, you will be required to travel to another site to provide support, therefore you should hold a full UK drivers licence.

 

Package Description

  •      An annual salary up to £45,000 (depending on experience)
