We are currently looking for a Lead Application Developer to support our incredible and hardworking IT Team in Wigan.

Role Responsibility

In this role you will be an expert in SQL with the ability to work with Oracle and MS SQL. The focus is on driving change through quality, documented developments and supporting ArrowXL on our journey to enhancing/upgrading key applications.

Other responsibilities will include;

• Provide leadership for a small development team and take ownership, development and management of allocated departmental processes.
• Lead on technical solutions from design through to code level.
• Lead governance standards across developments from 3^rd Party suppliers and internal teams.
• Lead on improving the automation journey for ArrowXL developments by introducing software tools and frameworks to conduct the tasks with minimum administrator intervention.
• Work in partnership with Third party Suppliers, and other AXL colleagues to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis through to design and delivery.
• Provide updates on Development progress.
• Work closely with relevant teams internally and externally to ensure alignment and coordination across operations as part of the seamless implementation of existing and new systems.
• Work on a wide range of projects involving the implementation of new and existing systems, solutions and processes. (From small change requests to large scale system upgrades and replacements)
• Identify areas of improvement and develop/implement improvements
• Troubleshoot and diagnose application issues with the goal of establishing and fixing root cause to the problem.

• Participate in all testing activities including unit, integration and system testing.

The Ideal Candidate

Before applying, you should be able to demonstrate substantial application development experience in a similar role, ideally in logistics/manufacturing.

You should have:

• Sound knowledge of HTML, Oracle Applications, Dell Boomi, .Net, Azure along with an understanding of ERP, CRM and WMS platforms.
• Expertise to implement strategies, evaluate processes, and build upon an application base
• Experience in working within a Disciplined Agile Delivery framework
• Experience in Database administration from a development perspective with good knowledge of Production Database administration.
• Integration experience preferably with Dell Boomi

Whilst your home location will be our Wigan Support Centre, you will be required to travel to another site to provide support, therefore you should hold a full UK drivers licence.
