Import and Export Coordinator - Wigan

ArrowXL is excited to announce that we’re now recruiting for an Import and Export Coordinator to join the team based from our Wigan Distribution Centre. Managing the deliveries to and from the UK and Ireland, you will be familiar with CHIEF and Brexit requirements and will lead and advise the business on all Import and Export requirements.
Managing the end to end client journey and being responsible for customs management of Imports and Exports and other chartered movements, you really will make this role your own and be an expert in your field. You will be comfortable leading the business through the required procedures at this vital period of growth and transition.

Role Responsibility
Reporting into our DSV Commercial Manager, you will ensure delivery of orders to clients in the UK and Ireland. Responsibilities include:
- Preparation and processing of import/export customs declaration and clearance
- Customs import/export entry checking
- Work closely with the Technical Department to ensure that AXL complies with new or changing country requirements, adding any new documents to standard processes
- Allocating the correct licences depending on imported goods
- Prepare timely applications for each job file in liaison with HMRC and/or Irish Revenue as appropriate, ensuring correct paperwork and accurate records
- Determine the most cost-effective way of transporting goods across Irish Sea to both Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland
- Liaise with suppliers, carriers and software providers regarding product data compliance
- Upload onto the Customs and Excise system details of vessel, booking references, loading port and weight for each order, in accordance with Customs and Excise requirements
- Deal with all enquiries and queries quickly and efficiently relating to customs procedures, tariff classification, duty rates and any other documentation requirements
The Ideal Candidate
With the amount of applications expected for this newly created role, we will only be able to proceed forward with candidates who match our essential requirements stated below:
- A minimum of two years’ experience employed within an Import and Export related position
- Knowledgeable in post Brexit custom changes
- Shipping and haulage distribution experience
- Excellent administration and communication skills
- Comfortable with all IT related software and adept with Microsoft office programmes
- A self-starter and confident individual who can lead the Import and Export strategy across the business
