Finance Business Partner

We are currently looking for a Finance Business partner to join our devoted Finance team in Wigan.
Role Responsibility
As the finance business partner for our Northern operations, you will support the finance teams and operations in the financial reporting and management of a dynamic and rapidly growing multi-million-pound turnover business.
Partnering at senior level with our Business Heads, the successful applicant will have visibility, impact and the experience to consult, act, and facilitate change and progress. Developing finance related process, strategy and the decision-making process and having an impact on determinations that directly affect the bottom line.
You will be pragmatic and credible and be able to challenge the status quo delicately from time to time, whilst harnessing this business' natural entrepreneurship and ambition and helping drive the road map for the finance teams.

From a technical perspective, your responsibilities will include:
Flash, budget, forecast modelling & reporting
- Assist the FP&A Controller and business partner with the General Managers to produce annual financial budgets, regular forecasting and scenario planning (P&L)
- Regular review and challenge of budget assumptions.
- Work with the FP&A team to manage the production of the weekly flash results in a timely and efficient manner
- Manage and coordinate weekly reporting process from sites for flash results ensuring integrity of data
- Assist in standardising and improving the weekly flash reporting process
- Absence cover for the production of the weekly flash reports
Management reporting
- Work with the FP&A team to measure and develop business relevant KPIs
- Perform trend and variance analysis on flash, budget, prior year, actual and forecasting results preparing explanations and identifying areas for cost savings
- Assist the FP&A team at month end in conjunction with the management accounting team to identify month end adjustments required and to provide feedback into flash model
- Ad hoc assistance to the management accounting team
Day to day responsibilities
- Business partner with the general managers
- Manage and co-ordinate site financial processes
- Manage and co-ordinate all head office reports/forms that are expected by site
- Understand, challenge and improve current site operational and financial processes and procedures
- Proactively perform financial analysis leading to the successful implementation of cost reduction initiatives
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will work closely both with the finance teams, operational GM’s and Heads of department, and will be responsible for the accuracy of the functional P&L and will work closely with key stakeholders to support and influence the ongoing change programme and the planned growth of the company.
You will need to demonstrate your ability to enhance profitability through the provision of timely, commercial, detailed and accurate financial analysis and increase the financial awareness at sites. Business partnering experience, specifically with non-financial managers, would be an advantage.
The candidate must have the ability and experience to identify necessary process, control and procedural changes, and then design and implement those changes, in order to improve the efficiency and financial control of our evolving business.
The candidate will need an acute attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and the desire and ability to work to tight reporting deadlines, coupled with a confident, hardworking approach.
- Either qualified ACA / FCA or CIMA / FCMA or ACCA / FCCA, part qualified or qualified through direct experience
- Experience of working in a business with £30-£150m turnover
- Good experience of improving and streamlining processes
- Logistics experience would be an advantage, however is not a pre-requisite
- Very strong Excel skills are an absolute essential (eg. SumIf, VLookup, Pivot Tables, IndexMatch, etc)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with and manipulate large amounts of data
