Commercial Forecasting Analyst

Job Introduction

A Commercial Forecasting Analyst is responsible for interacting cross functionally with the Commercial and Operational teams to co-ordinate and oversee the collaborative development of our business forecast.

Role Responsibility

Role Specific:

  • To create strategic forecasts for the business for all clients, on a short term (daily), medium (weekly/monthly), and long-term basis ultimately to offer a rolling 12 month forecast to the commercial and operational teams.
  • Build an advanced scalable modelling tool that covers both time series and judgemental forecasting considering delivery service, seasonal swings and multiple clients.
  • To plan specific periods of the year including Easter Peak, Black Friday and Christmas / New Year
  • To Liaise with all Commercial Managers to ensure transport plans are aligned with forecasts
  • Build data models to help aid business decisions
  • Perform strategic analysis and prepare models to support strategic planning activities and budgeting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Is independent in exercising professional knowledge without close supervision
  • Solves problems according to experience, analyses possible solutions and provides suggestions for improvement under defined parameters
  • Effectively manages time so that deadlines are met both individually and as a team
  • Act upon any feedback from your line manager concerning individual and / or team performance
  • Be responsible for and undertake continual learning and development both informally and formally, ensuring a clear understanding of the business and cross functional priorities

The Ideal Candidate

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience employed within a similar position
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced transport or retail environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to navigate the corporate landscape and build effective working relationships at all levels
  • Strong Analytic skill set with the ability to provide actionable recommendations based on critical metrics.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to present to all levels within the business as well as clients.
  • Effectively manages time to make sure that deadlines are met where possible exceeded
  • Advanced knowledge across Microsoft office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven strong financial and analytical skills to model and quantify impacts of assumptions and events
  • Able to present information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to act proactively, independently, and decisively to quickly assess needs and identify logical solutions

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to navigate the corporate landscape, quickly establish credibility and build effective, collaborative, working relationships at all levels
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Able to act in a professional manner to the benefit of the company and always maintain confidentiality

Role Specific Requirements:

  • Holds a full UK driving licence
